Iran U-23 defeats Oman in friendly match

Loading...Tasnim – MUSCAT, Iran U-23 football team defeated Oman 2-1 in a warm-up match on Tuesday.
Ali Taheran and Mehdi Ghaedi scored in the 53rd and 56th minutes respectively in Muscat’s Sultan Qaboos Stadium.
The friendly match was held as preparation for the qualification phase for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Championship 2020.
Iran has been drawn along with Iraq, Yemen and Turkmenistan in Group C, while Oman is pitted with Qatar, Nepal and Afghanistan.
The AFC U-23 Championship 2020 is scheduled to take place in Thailand. It will act as the AFC qualifiers for the men’s football tournament at the 2020 Olympics.
