Wolves could regret missing out on attacking target Sardar Azmoun
The Boot Room – WOLVERHAMPTON, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ reported pursuit of Rubin Kazan attacker Sardar Azmoun has collapsed, something which the club could end up regretting.
According to Sky Sports, Wolves had opened talks with the Russian club about the 24-year-old.
The report detailed that there were discussions over a £1.75million loan fee for the rest of the season, with Rubin Kazan keen on a £11.4million obligation to buy permanently.
But the Daily Mail reports on Deadline Day that Wolves’ pursuit of Azmoun is off after the two clubs failed to
Nuno Espirito Santo should be bitterly disappointed that he hasn’t got a new attacking option at Molineux and the Rubin Kazan ace could have been a great fit.
Azmoun would have injected some extra quality to the Wolves frontline and most importantly added some depth to the squad, which does perhaps look a little short.
The Iran international is prolific for his nation, scoring 27 goals in just 43 senior caps.
He is a young talent that is technically gifted with the ball at his feet and certainly has the potential to be a success in England if given a chance.
Wolves could be in some trouble if talisman Raul Jimenez suffers an injury, which is why losing out on Azmoun in January could end up looking a poor result.
