Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Esteghlal coach Winfried Schaefer is satisfied with his team’s performance against Al Ain of the UAE in Matchday Two of the 2019 AFC Champions League and says they are not afraid of confronting Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia.

The Iranian Blues sit fourth in Group C of the competition with just one point, while Al Hilal lead the table with six points. Al Duhail also are second with three points.

“First, I would like to thank our supporters who came to the stadium. We played very well, especially in the second half. With the way we played against Al Ain, we are not afraid of playing against Al Hilal, Al Duhail and Al Ain in the UAE,” Schaefer said.

“We made a mistake and conceded a goal with a lack of concentration at the final moments of the match. This is football not play station,” the German coach stated.

“I am very happy for coaching a team like Esteghlal. We will prepare ourselves for the upcoming matches against our opponents in the competition,” Schaefer declared.
