Tasnim – TEHRAN, Esteghlal football team of Iran must defeat Al Duhail of Qatar in Matchday Five of the 2019 AFC Champions League.

The match is scheduled for Monday in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Esteghlal will be led by Farhad Majidi, who replaced Winfried Schafer, when it welcomes Al Duhail to Azadi Stadium. Any result except a win will send the Iranians out of the competition early, the-afc.com wrote.

In another group match, Al Hilal hosts an Al Ain side that has officially lost its UAE Pro League title after a five-match winless run in the league saw the team drop to fifth, battling for a place in next year’s AFC Champions League.

Al Hilal sits top of Group C with nine points, followed by Al Duhail with seven points.

Esteghlal is third with four points and Al Ain remains bottom of the table with just two points.
