Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iran and Esteghlal long-serving right-back will retire from football on Thursday.

The 35-year-old player will hang up his boots after the match against Sepidrood in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Heydari is one of the most-decorated Iranian footballers, winning three Iran Professional League with Esteghlal (two times) and Sepahan (one time).

He has also made 59 caps for Iran’s national football team. Heydari had featured in Team Melli during the 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil.

Heydari was a member of Iran national under-23 football team, participating in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.

He started his playing career in 2002 at Aboomoslem and has also played at Pas, Paykan, and Sepahan.
