HullDailyMail.co.uk – HULL, One of Hull City’s key attacking weapons is nearing a return to action.

Hull City have received a timely boost ahead of the busy festive period after Allahyar Sayyadmanesh returned to full training. The Iranian international will be in the squad for the Boxing Day meeting with Blackpool at the MKM Stadium.

Sayyadmanesh has been out of action since limping off in the second half of the 1-1 draw at Burnley in late August with his injury coming as a real blow not just to City but the 21-year-old, with him sidelined from the World Cup this winter.

Allahyar had been sidelined with a torn hamstring, one that needed surgery and a lengthy period of recovery, but boss Liam Rosenior has confirmed the talented 23-year-old is back in amongst it at Cottingham and in his thoughts for Monday’s game.

Rosenior will not take any risks with Allahyar and says he is not likely to be in contention for a starting place against the Tangerines, but his availability is a huge boost for City. There is also positive news on the return of Benjamin Tetteh who is expected to begin full training on Christmas Eve and remains on course for a return early next month.

“He’s back in, he’s good, he’s showing me pace, he’s showing me enthusiasm and he’s looking fit and he’s in the squad (for Blackpool) which is a huge boost for us,” a delighted Tigers boss told Hull Live.

“He’s back in and around the squad, and it will be my decision whether he’s in the squad or not – he’s not ready to start but he could be someone that I can see making a big difference for us coming off the bench.

“I love him! I love him already, what a lovely lad and what a character. He’s someone who fits my philosophy and the way I want to play, not just the way I want to play, but his values.

“He works so hard in training and that’s something I demand from the first day I was here to the last day.

“What he can bring (is huge). His pace, his one-vs-one ability, he gets in on the back post, he can score and he can create.

“We’ve missed players like that, and obviously, Dimi (Pelkas) coming out of the squad a couple of weeks ago has hurt us.

“Benji (Tetteh) will be training with us tomorrow (Christmas Eve) which is great so he’s really close, and it gives me more options and more scope to win games of football which is what I want to do.”

Elsewhere, Alfie Jones is back after suffering from illness and though the dressing room has been impacted by a cold this week, there are currently no fresh concerns surrounding Rosenior’s squad.
