MNA – BOCHUM/TEHRAN, Relegated Bochum striker Vahid Hashemian rejected media speculation that he would join the Tehran-based football club Persepolis.

Hashemian’s current contract ends this summer and he has yet to negotiate with a new team. “I have not talked to Persepolis or any other team,” Hashemian said. The 33-year-old footballer believes that Bochum deserved to be relegated from Bundesliga.

“I am so glad that the season is over. Bochum’s position was bad and the players were not in coordination. Some of them were stressed out during the matches. I think Bochum deserved to be relegated,” Hashemian stated.

Hashemian joined Hamburg in 1999 and then played for Bayern Munich and Hannover 96.

Meanwhile, Sepahan defender Hadi Aghili is also one of players Persepolis is interested in for the next season. However, he said that he would not return to his former club. “I have not reached an agreement with Persepolis,” Aghili said.
