andranikshhotingVitalFootball – SHEFFIELD, He may sound like a bad guy from Doctor Who, but Sheffield United could be set to sign midfielder Andranik Teymourian.

The Iranian midfielder, 27, has been without a club since his contract at Fulham expired, and after rejecting an extended trial at Blackburn Rovers, could be set to join the Blades.

Hardly a favourite with the fans who dream up terrace chants, Teymourian was initially brought to England by Bolton Wanderers, and after being signed by Roy Hodgson at Fulham spent two years at Craven Cottage, enjoying a short loan spell at Barnsley in 2009.

Now in the hunt for a club, Bramall Lane could provide an ideal destination for the midfielder, despite being in one of the few areas the team possess cover.

With funding so low, it was thought defenders were the top priority, but Nyron Nosworthy’s capture could allow Blackwell to strengthen other areas of the side.
