Underdog Foolad punish Esteghlal [VIDEO]

PFDC – TEHRAN, Esteghlal Tehran suffered a surprising 2-1 defeat to Foolad Khuzestan in Tehran Azadi Stadium on Saturday. Zob Ahan Esfahan celebrated a 2-1 victory over Mes Kerman.

Esteghlal took the lead after 10 minutes thanks to a brilliant Milad Meydavoudi who netted the ball unsaveable for Foolad’s keeper. Two incredible mistakes by Esteghlal goalie Vahid Talebloo sealed Esteghlal’s loss in front of 15’000 dissapointed spectators.

Talebloo couldn’t control a harmless shot by Reza Norouzi (62′) who scored the equalizer for Foolad. Norouzi turned into the match-winner in the 68th minute when the Foolad striker benefited from a horrible mistake by both Talebloo and Sadeghi and found himself in front of an empty goal.

Captain Mehdi Mahdavikia and Steel Azin defeated Pas Hamedan 3-0 in front of 2’000 spectators at Takhti Stadium. Hossain Kazemi (33′) and Mohammad Gholami with a brace (52′, 92′) ensured a well-deserved win for the Reds.
