Perspolis, Zob Ahan winners, Esteghlal loser of IPL [VIDEO]

MNA – TEHRAN, Zob Ahan of Isfahan defeated Pas of Hamedan to secure its place at the top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) standings table.

Brazilian Igor Castro scored Zob Ahan’s sole goal in the 18th minute. Zob Ahan stays on top of the IPL table with 28 points at the end of the 14th week.

Esteghlal lost to Sanat Naft of Abadan 2-0. Nabi Saki gave a lead to Sanat Naft in the 29th minute and Levon Pachajyan scored the second goal with 15 minutes remaining to the match.

In the meantime, Persepolis beat Naft of Tehran 3-1 at the Azadi Stadium on Friday. Shpejtim Arifi put Persepolis ahead in the 12th minute but Bahman Tahmasbi equalized the match 10 minutes later.

Arifi scored Persepolis’ second goal in the 51st minute and Alireza Noormohammadi’s header sealed a 3-1 victory for the popular team.

Persepolis is second with 27 points while Esteghlal moved down one place to third with 24 points in the IPL rankings.
