Shojaei goal beats Gijon [VIDEO]

PFDC – PAMPLONA, Masoud Shojaei’s second goal of the season gave Osasuna a 1-0 victory over Sporting Gijon in La Liga on Sunday.

Both Iranian played the full game and had positive impact on the game. Javad Nekounam almost already broke the deadlock twice in first half, but his great shot from outside the area went narrowly past the post while his header to a freekick bounced off the crossbar.

Shojaei then scored the winner nine minutes after the break, when he got to the end of a Soriano pass all alone in front of goal during a counter attack and kept a cool head, beating the keeper with a well placed shot.

The win puts the Basques in tenth position of the table, widening the gap to the relegation zone to five points.
