Iran B thrash Qatar’s army team
PFDC – DOHA, A day after the goalless draw between the A teams of Qatar and Iran, Iran’s B team defeated an army team 7-0 (5-0).
Initially Iran’s second string squad and Qatar’s B team were scheduled to meet, however, Qatar coach Bruno Metsu cancelled the game due to injuries and fatigue and so the Qatari army team stepped in.
Iranian youngster Karim Ansarifard scored a hattrick and Iman Mobali added a brace, one of his two goals being scored from the penalty spot.
Gholamreza Rezaei and Mohammad Gholami scored the further goals.
Iran will meet Angola in a final test in Doha on January 2 before opening their Asian Cup campaign against Iraq on January 11.
