In a match held in Abadan’s Takhti Stadium, Sepahan defeated Naft 1-0. Mehdi Karimian scored the only goal for the visitors in the 21st minutes.

Sepahan needs just one point from its two remaining matches to win the championship.

Elsewhere, rock-bottom Steel Azin defeated Malavan 1-0 in Bandar Anzali’s Takhti Stadium. It was Steel Azin’s first win after seven weeks.

Tehran giants Esteghlal and Persepolis were held to draws on Thursday by Shahin of Bushehr and Mes of Kerman respectively.
