Syria to play Iran, Uzbekistan in U-23 friendlies

AFC – TEHRAN, Syrian Olympic team will play two friendly games against Iran and Uzbekistan to prepare for their 2012 London Olympics second round of Asian qualifiers against Turkmenistan this month.

The West Asians will meet Iran’s Olympic team on Friday in Tehran and will travel to Tashkent to face Uzbekistan on Tuesday.

Turkmenistan, who defeated Indonesia 4-1 on aggregate in the first round, will travel to Jordan for the first leg on June 19 before hosting them in the return leg four days later.

Iran, who edged past Kyrgyzstan 1-0 on aggregate, will travel to Arbil to face Iraq on June 19 before hosting them on June 23 while Uzbekistan will host Hong Kong on June 19 and will face them again on June 23 in Hong Kong.
