MajidiCelebrating2PTV – TEHRAN, Saba, Esteghlal, and Foulad have defeated their rivals in the third week of Iran’s Premier League (IPL) to stand atop the table all with seven points.

Saba blanked Rah Ahan with two goals, Esteghlal downed Mes Kerman 2-1, and Foulad defeated Tehran’s Naft with an identical score on Friday.

Abdolkarim Eslami opened the scoring for Saba in the 10th minute of the match, and Akbar Sadeghi doubled his team’s tally about eight minutes later to clinch the away victory for Saba.

Esteghlal and Mes Kerman played out a scoreless first half in Kerman with few balls near the nets of both teams.

In the 70th minute of the match Farhad Majidi fired home from close range to give the Esteghlal the lead, and Esmaeil Sharifat extended the lead for the Blues 10 minutes later.

Mohsen Bayatiniya pulled one back for Mes Kerman, but that could not stop Esteghlal from winning the game.

In another match of the night, Mojtaba Zareie gave Naft Tehran a reason to cheer about five minutes to the break, but Reza Norouzi equalized the match three minutes into the second half.

Bakhtiar Rahmani scored the late winner of Foulad one minutes into the injury time to seal the victory for Foulad at home.

In other matches of the night, last season’s champions Sepahan gained their first victory of the league when they beat Abadan’s Naft 2-1, and Sepasi lost to Damash 1-nil.
