UAE overwhelm Qatar in tune-up

Loading...AFC – AL AIN, Ahmed Khalil scored twice as the UAE beat Qatar 3-1 at the Tahnoun bin Mohammed Stadium on Thursday in a friendly warm-up for both sides for the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The 20-year-old Al Ahli striker came on as a substitute in the second period to score twice within eight minutes after Hamdan Al Kamali put them in front with a spot kick in the 24th minute.
Qatar pulled one back two minutes from time through Marcone Amaral Costa but it was little more than consolation for their coach Sebastiao Lazaroni.
The UAE next play Kuwait at the same venue on September 2 in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers while Qatar travel to Bahrain.
