PTV – KERMAN, Mes Kerman has blanked Sepahan to celebrate its first victory in the current season of the Iranian Premier League (IPL).

Mes pummeled its opponent on Sunday with three first-half goals at Bahonar stadium in the southwestern city of Kerman in a match from the IPL’s eighth week, IRNA reported.

Adel Kolahkaj netted the opener for the hosts from close range in the 22nd minute, five minutes before Ghassem Dehnavi doubled the lead from the penalty spot.

Ahmad Hassan-Zadeh compounded Sepahan’s misery, firing home the bottom-rooted Mes’ third with a dazzling bicycle kick in the 37th minute.

The result aided Mes, which is coached by Croatian Miroslav Blazevic, to crawl up one step in the 18-team league table.

Today’s match was one left over from the IPL’s eight week, with the league having its ninth week started in early October.

Also postponed is a face-off due between Mes Sarcheshmeh, another Kerman-based squad, and Zob Ahan, Sepahan’s fellow Isfahanis.
