Queiroz says he votes for Messi in FIFA voting
ISNA – TEHRAN, Iranian national soccer team coach Carlos Queiroz said he would select Lionel Messi as the best player of the year in FIFA’s voting.
The poll organized by FIFA is held annually to select the best player, although FIFA has not yet sent the letter for Queiroz to ask about his opinion.
Also regarding Manchester United’s defeat from Manchester City 6-1 in derby and some speculations about Manchester City’s championship, he told ISNA, “That is one thing about Manchester; we will rise again.”
Concerning Alex Ferguson who is leading Manchester United for 25 years, he said, “I know Alex very well after years of working beside him. I know this man is full of experience, he is full of enthusiasm and this is the life for a coach to reach the top. This is life and I have no doubt that Ferguson with his knowledge and experience will make the team rise again. Regarding his career I think he is a unique and remarkable example in the football world. Unfortunately, most of the clubs do not follow this example of Manchester United.”
“But during the 25 years I can say and I can tell you that he was not always smiling. But the difference it is, a good example that I can say about Manchester United club and Sir Alex Ferguson is that it is a club with people who never become panic. That’s the number one rule of the Manchester United, never panic. The second rule of that club it that they trust their own people. They believe that their own people are the best people that are better prepared to do.”
Also regarding Jose Mourinho, he said, “The best coach in my opinion is for its fans, for press. It’s based on the results. People say a coach is good when the team wins and a coach is bad when the team loses.”
“That’s the rule in football. That’s how people see, so if you go to Barcelona, they have one opinion about the best coach, if you go to Madrid, they have another opinion. Who cares about my opinion? The most important opinion is the fans’ opinion.”
