TEHRAN TIMES – TEHRAN, Persepolis was held 1-1 by Foolad in the Iranian Professional League (IPL) on Monday in Tehran.

In the match held in front of about 5,000 spectators in the Azadi Stadium, Maziar Zare scored the Reds’ only goal from the penalty spot after Javad Kazemian had been fouled by Omid Khuraj in the penalty box.

Refree Mohsen Torki sent off Khuraj in the 39th minute and Foolad was redcuded to 10 men.

In second half, Persepolis had many chances but they couldn’t score.

In the 90th minute, Foolad’s Bakhtiar Rahmani leveled the score with a nice header.

With securing one point from the game, Persepolis remained in the ninth place. 

In other games on Monday, Naft were defeated by Saipa 4-0 in Abadan, Damash were held to a goal-less draw by their hosts Shahrdari of Tabriz, and Ali Daei’s Rah Ahan recorded its thirteenth draw against Shahin in Bushehr.
