Iran could play Jordan or Azerbaijan in February
PFDC – TEHRAN, After friendly match opportunities with Sweden and Ivory Coast for January were not used by the Iranian football federation (IFF), friendlies with Jordan or Azerbaijan are now on the cards.
Jordanian sources report Iran and Jordan agreed on a test match on February 23 in Dubai, while the official website of Azerbaijan’s football federation (AFFA) already reported last Friday that they are in negotiations for a friendly match with Iran in late February during their training camp in Dubai.
Iran will host Qatar in a World Cup qualifier on February 29. While Carlos Queiroz’ men have already booked their ticket for the final stage of World Cup qualification, Qatar need to avoid a loss in order to certainly follow Iran to the next round.
