Jabbari undergoes knee surgery
PFDC – TEHRAN, Esteghlal and Team Melli ace Mojtaba Jabbari underwent knee surgery in Tehran on Monday and will be sidelined for an undefined period.
The 28-year-old midfielder struggled with knee problems recently, but surprisingly played the full 90 minutes in Esteghlal’s 3-1 win over Al Ettifaq in the Asian Champions League playoff.
However, now the team doctors strongly proposed Jabbari to go under the knife.
Jabbari was the most outstanding player for Iran’s national team in autumn, scoring three goals and assisting four in four matches. No less impressive are his stats for Esteghlal, for whom he scored ten goals and assisted eight in 20 appearances in the domestic league so far.
