Vahid Hashemian hangs up his boots

TEHRAN TIMES – TEHRAN, Former Bochum and Persepolis striker announced his retirement from football on Friday.
 
Vahid Hashemian began his career with Fath in 1996 and after one season joined Pas. He was transferred to Hamburger in 1999 and joined Bochum after two seasons.
 
He had three good seasons with Bochum, scoring 34 goals in 87 appearances. During his last season he scored 16 goals and helped the team to finish fifth in Bundesliga and qualify for the 2004–05 UEFA Cup.
 
This prompted Bayern Munich to grant him in a €2 million contract. Hashemian played nine matches at Bayern but failed to score. He joined Hannover 96 in 2005 on 23 April 2008, Bochum officials announced that he would return to their club in the season 2008–09.
 
Hashemian signed a two year contract with an option for an extra year. He scored three goals and played 41 times in Bochum.  
 
Hashemian signed a contract with Iran’s Persepolis in 2010, where he won the Hazfi Cup in his first season. He played 22 times for Persepolis and scored four goals.
 
On saturday, on his 36th birthday he announced his retirement from football.
 
Vahid Hashemian also had 50 caps for the Iran football team and scored 15 goals.
