Persepolis held by Saipa
TEHRAN TIMES – TEHRAN, Persepolis football team was held to a goalless draw by Saipa in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Tuesday.
The Iranian popular team could have won the match if Mehrdad Pouladi had converted a penalty in the 70th minute. The Persepolis midfielder hit the penalty over the cross bar.
Persepolis supporters have been singing the name of Ali Karimi during the match.
Pressure has continued to mount on current Persepolis Portuguese coach Manuel Jose, who recently has left Karimi out of the team.
Persepolis moved to 13th in the IPL standings with 11 points and Saipa is 5th with 18 points.
