GhoochPFDC – LONDON, There was plenty of action for Iran’s foreign based players this weekend with very different fortunes.

In England’s Premier League, Ashkan Dejagah came on as his club’s first substitute a minute before the hour mark, when Fulham and Everton were tied 1-1.

After Everton took the lead through Fellaini’s second goal of the day, a last minute goal by Sidwell finally saved a point for the hosts.

The decisive attack had been executed over the right flank, with the solid Dejagah and Riether combining well there once again.

Fulham stand in seventh position of the table with 15 points out of ten matches.

Shojaei plays in Cup and La Liga

After being sidelined for a long time, Masoud Shojaei finally seems on his way back to Osasuna’s starting formation.

The winger started against Sporting Gijon in Spanish Cup on Thursday and remained on the field for 80 minutes.

Shojaei could have scored twice, but narrowly missed target after a great dribbling in first half before seeing his close range effort being denied by a great reflex from the keeper after the break.

Osasuna lost the game 0-1, but still can advance to the next round with a win in the return leg in Pamplona.

On Sunday, Shojaei came on as Osasuna’s first sub after 72 minutes when the match against Real Valladolid was deadlocked with no goals.

However, the game took a complete turn just six minutes later when Osasuna’s Ruben was sent off for his second booking.

Things went from bad to worse when eight minutes from time Ebert scored the winner for the visitors.

Struggling Osasuna remain on bottom of La Liga after ten rounds.

Matchwinner Ghoochannejhad

Future Standard Liege striker Reza Ghoochannejhad meanwhile was the man of the match in Sint Truiden’s 2-1 away win over Tubize.

Tubize took the lead early in second half but Sint Truiden introduced their “super sub” Ghoochannejhad shortly afterwards and the nimble striker scored two goals, the second one from the penalty spot, to give his team a sweet victory.

Elsewhere

While Alireza Haghighi remains without match praxis as third goalkeeper at Rubin Kazan, Omid Nazari also wasn’t in action for Ängelholms because he prematurely joined Iran’s national team training camp in Tehran this weekend.

In Qatar, Andranik Teymourian’s Kharaitiyat suffered a 1-2 defeat to Hadi Aghily’s Qatar SC.

Aghily scored the 1-1 equalizer from the penalty spot, thereby sparking some controversy in Iran, because he had not been included in Carlos Queiroz’s latest squad, officially due to injury.

Winless Kharaitiyat remain on bottom of the standings while Qatar SC are in sixth position of Qatar’s stars league.
