KABIR NEWS – Ali Fathollahzadeh, the Chairman of Tehran based club Esteghlal FC, said he has negotiated with German Bundesliga side Hannover 96 to hold a testimonial for Farhad Majidi who announced his retirement from professional football earlier this season.

According to some published rumors in local media, Farhad Majidi wants to resume his career for more six months in Esteghlal FC but Ali Fathollahzadeh refused these claims by saying: “Farhad Majidi is currently taking football coaching courses in abroad but he may join Esteghlal FC for the last three or four matches in Iran Pro League.

Amir Ghalenoei has also accepted this offer so it depends on Farhad’s decision.” Base on this sentence, it seems the former captain of Blues may sign a new contract with his beloved club for several games but it’s still unclear.

“We have arranged a testimonial for Farhad Majidi against Bundesliga side Hannover 96. The exact time of this match will be announced in future.” said Ali Fathollahzadeh, the president of Esteghlal FC.

Farhad Majidi, 35, was one of the most popular players in Iran’s football. On 2010 he claimed the title of The World’s most Popular Footballer amongst active Players.
