32-year-old Iranian sportscaster laid to rest
TEHRAN TIMES – TEHRAN, Iranian sportscaster Nima Nahavandian, who died at the age of 32 at his home in Tehran on Sunday morning, was laid to rest on Tuesday in Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra cemetery.
Family members and some sports officials, namely the secretary general of Iran National Olympic, Bahram Afsharzadeh, and Iranian legendary athlete Teymour Ghiasi attended the funeral.
The body of Nahavandian was found at his home in western Tehran on Sunday and police said there were no obvious signs of trauma or any suspicious activity related to the incident.
An autopsy revealed that he passed away because of brain damage.
Nahavandian was working with Iran’s state-run television news channels.
