Engin Firat appointed Saipa coach
Tehran Times – KARAJ, Engin Firat has been named as the new head coach of Saipa football team on Saturday.
The 43-year-old coach has replaced Mojtaba Taghavi in Karaj-based team.
Saipa finished in 10th place in the Iranian Professional League (IPL) under guidance of Taghavi.
Firat has already coached Iran’s Sepahan and Gostaresh Foolad.
He has returned to Saipa for second stint. Firat has worked in the club in 2008 as assistant of German Werner Lorant.
The Turkish born German football coach started his professional career as an assistant coach for German legend Horst Hrubesch, at Turkish 1.League team Samsunspor in 1997.
