Pejman Nouri joins Esteghlal, Rahmati extends

Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Malavan midfielder Pejman Nouri joined Esteghlal on a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Former Persepolis player has signed with the Iranian football champion for an undisclosed fee.

“I joined Esteghlal because I wanted to improve. I won the title with Persepolis four years ago and I want to win the title with Esteghlal as well,” Nouri said.

The 33-year-old player has won 49 matches for Iran football team and scored four goals.

Mehdi Rahmati to extend with Esteghlal

Esteghlal goalkeeper Mehdi Rahmati has reached an agreement with the Iranian football club to extend his contract .

His contract expired at the end of the season and he has been linked with some Iranian clubs.

Rahmati withdrew from the national team due to some problems in January.

The goalie tried to return to the national team and apologized to the officials but Iran coach Carlos Queiroz dropped him for three vital qualifiers against Qatar, Lebanon and South Korea.
