Khalatbari joins Persepolis [VIDEO]

Loading...Persianfootball.com – TEHRAN, Mohammad-Reza Khalatbari finally inked a two-year deal with Persepolis Tehran, ending a lengthy soap opera about his contract with UAE club Ajman.
Khalatbari had signed a deal with UAE League outfits Ajman in June, shortly before the league changed it’s name to “Arabian Gulf League” in an attempt to undermine the rightful name of the Persian Gulf as provocation towards Iran.
The nimble winger immediately vowed not to play in that league, but the club refused to cancel the contract. Instead Ajman demanded one million USD transfer fee from any club interested in the 29-year-old.
Persepolis Tehran, with the help of some sponsors, were willing to buy Khalatbari’s contract, but negotiations lasted for some weeks before the move could be finalized on Sunday.
Reportedly Persepolis agreed to pay 750.000 USD for the offensive allrounder in the end, who might debut for the Reds in the famous Tehran derby on Friday.
