Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Fulham midfielder Ashkan Dejagah will likely play against Thailand in the 2015 Asian Cup qualifier.

Iran is scheduled to play Thailand on October 15 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Dejagah was forced off with the injury in recent weeks.

“I was left out of line-up due to injury over the last few weeks but I I’m feeling better now. I think I can play against Thailand,” Fars news agency quoted Dejagah as saying.

Dejagah has not played for Iran football team since Uzbekistan’s match in November.

“I’ve heard Thailand is a good team. It’s an important match for Iran and I’d like to play,” the 27-year-old added.

Iran has already qualified for next summer’s World Cup. In two previous Asian Cup qualifying matches, the Carlos Queiroz’s team defeated Lebanon 5-0 and was held to a 1-1 draw against Kuwait.

The top two teams in the group join Australia, Japan, North Korea and South Korea in the final.
