Persianfootball.com – BANGKOK, Not only Iran could celebrate a comfortable 3-0 win over Thailand on Friday, also there were some noteable debuts in Team Melli.

Daniel Davari

Finally Bundesliga goalkeeper Daniel Davari earned his first cap for Team Melli. The Eintracht Braunschweig man had received his first call-up in February this year and first joined the Iranian national team for a training camp in March.

However, he had always found himself on the bench so far and so his debut on Friday, when he replaced Rahman Ahmadi in the starting lineup, came as a slight surprise.

Although barely tested, Davari left a secure impression and probably will start again versus Lebanon on Tuesday.

Steven Beitashour

Despite having his first appearance for Team Melli against Thailand in Tehran last month, there were no less than two debuts for San Jose rightback Steven Beitashour as well.

The defender had his starting lineup debut filling in for the injured Khosro Heydari, causing the usual backup Hossein Mahini to take a seat on the bench.

Not only Beitashour showed a strong display, he also grabbed his first assist for Iran when he set up Reza Ghoochannejhad’s 2-0 with a pass from the right side.

Also Beitashour most likely will start again on Tuesday as Mahini is expected to replace the suspended Ehsan Hajsafi on the left.

Alireza Jahanbakhsh

Also NEC Nijmegen winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh had earned his first cap last month already, but scored his maiden goal in injury time on Friday.

Jahanbakhsh, considered one of the brightest prospects in Iranian football, tapped in the ball from close range after being set up by Mohammad-Reza Khalatbari.
