Esteghlal edges Malavan in IPL

Loading...Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Esteghlal defeated Malavan in the Iranian Professional League (IPL) thanks to a goal from Hanif Omranzadeh.
On Sunday, the Iranian giant beat Malavan 1-0 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium. Omranzadeh found the back of the net with a header in the 31st minute.
Esteghlal moved up to second place behind Persepolis on goal difference.
“I am satisfied with the result but I am not pleased with the way we played today. I am happy we finished in second since we missed so many players because of injury during the past games,” Esteghlal coach Amir Ghalenoei said in the post match news conference.
