Ashkan Dejagah scores lone Fulham goal in losing effort [VIDEO]
Persianfootball.com – LONDON, Ashkan Dejagah, the 26-year old Iranian, scored Fulham FC’s only goal against Tottenham on Wednesday.
Dejagah finished well with a blistering shot from just inside the right-hand side of the penalty box in the 57th minute, after a sublime pass by Dimitar Berbatov. Dejagah played the full 90 minutes and was one of Fulham’s standout players and linked well with Alexander Kačaniklic.
The West London-based side lost after conceding two unanswered goals from the Spurs, but played much more inspiring football under new manager Rene Meulensteen. The Whites are in relegation zone, and stand third last with 10 points in the Barclay’s English Premier League.
After an injury-plagued season, Ashkan Dejagah has started against Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham, and was a menace on the right flank. The starting spot and goal should spell well for the 26-year old, who can start anew after Fulham fired the man who brought Dejagah to Craven Cottage.
It was widely speculated that the speedy right-winger was in Martin Jol’s doghouse. Dejagah was one of Fulham’s best players last season but was not given the same confidence from Jol this year after coming off an extended time-off from an ankle injury.
