Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Referee Mohsen Ghahremani was suspended for eight months over match-fixing in the Iranian Professional League.

Ghahremani, who has been out of work since September, was suspended by disciplinary committee of Iran Football Federation on Sunday for eight-month.

Ghahremani made wrong decisions during Sepahan-Persepolis match in Isfahan in September, where the visiting team lost 2-0.

The referee showed Meysam Hosseini a straight red card for a controversial foul on Sepahan defender Shoja Khalilzadeh just two minutes into the match.

He also awarded Sepahan a penalty and Hadi Aghili found the back of the net.

TV replays showed Ghahremani made mistakes.

Persepolis coach Ali Daei accused Ghahremani of supporting Sepahan at the post match news conference and the disciplinary committee charged Daei with misconduct for his comments.

A number of people have been charged in relation to match-fixing offence in Iran football.
