Iran stagnant at FIFA ranking yet still top of Asia

Loading...Persianfootball.com – ZURICH, The latest FIFA World ranking released today shows Team Melli’s World Cup Group F opponent Argentina move down to 7th, while Iran at 37 remains as the highest ranked AFC member.
Team Melli’s other 2014 FIFA World Cup fellow Group F members Bosnia-Herzegovina and Nigeria are 25 and 44 respectively. While top 5 are Spain (1), Germany (2), Portugal (3), Brazil (4) and Colombia (5).
In AFC zone, trailing Iran are Japan (47), Uzbekistan (53), South Korea (55), Australia (59) and Jordan (64). While Iran’s fellow Persian speaking members Tajikistan (121) and Afghanistan (128) remain in the top 20 of Asia, their AFC zone ranking are 17 and 18 respectively.
Out of Iran’s UEFA neighbours only Armenia (33) has a higher rank, others Turkey (39) and Azerbaijan (85) have a lower ranking in comparison to Team Melli.
