Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Persepolis striker Mohammad Reza Khalatbari signed a two-year contract with Sepahan for an undisclosed fee on Tuesday.

The 31-year old striker parted company with Persepolis due to a financial disagreement and decided to return to the Isfahan-based club.

Khalatbari spent the 2012-13 season at Sepahan and was one of the best years in his career. He scored 17 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions.

“The player paid his $200,000 released clause to Ajman himself and then signed a two-year contract with Sepahan. I can’t reveal the contract fee but I can assure you that it’s nowhere near what the media says”, Sepahan president Mehrzad Khalilian told Tehran Times.

Khalatbari, who was one of the key members of the Iran’s World Cup qualifying campaign, missed the most important tournament of his career after being left out of Carlos Queiroz’s final 23-man squad.
