Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iran Professional League (IPL) leader Esteghlal of Tehran football team lost to Naft on Thursday.

Naft defeated Esteghlal 2-0 in a match held in Tehran’s Takhti Stadium.

Vahid Amiri found the back of the net just after 45 seconds into the match.

With two minutes left in the game, Amir Arsalan Motahari scored Naft’s second goal.

It was Esteghlal’s second loss in the current season as the team was also defeated against Sepahan.

Elsewhere, Sepahan, who appointed Hossein Faraki as new head coach of the team on Monday, ended Padideh’s seven-game unbeaten streak in Mashhad.

Mohammad Reza Khalatbari scored the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute.

Foolad of Khuzestan also edged Gostaresh Foolad in Ahvaz thanks to a Soroush Rafiei’s added time goal.
