Esteghlal Victorious in Iran Professional League

Loading...Tasnim, TEHRAN – Esteghlal of Tehran ended its run of three successive defeats with a 3-1 victory over Malavan of Anzali in the Iranian Professional League (IPL) on Thursday.
The Blues needed to emerge victorious in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium. They defeated Malavan 3-1. Omid Ebrahimi gave a lead Esteghlal in the 33rd minute from the penalty spot.
Mohammad Ghazi extended the lead in the 40th minute. Jalal Rafkhaei pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 55th minute.
Malavan put Esteghlal under pressure and could have equalized the match but Esteghlal striker Sajjad Shahbazzadeh made it 3-1 with seven minutes remaining.
Elsewhere, Gostaresh Foolad lost to Padideh 1-0, Naft played out a goalless draw against Zob Ahan and Esteghlal Khuzestan edged Rah Ahan 1-0.
