Iran’s Behzadi, Daei inducted into AFC Hall of Fame

Tasnim – KUALA LUMPUR, Iranian legends Homayoun Behzadi and Ali Daei have been inducted into the Asian Football Confederations’ Hall of Fame on Sunday.

Former Iran and Persepolis strikers were inducted into the AFC Hall of Fame in the Philippine capital, Manila for their services to Asian football.

Japanese duo Yasuhiko Okudera and Homare Sawa as well as Saudi Arabia star Sami Al Jaber all recognized for their services to Asian football.

The AFC has also inducted Malaysia’s Dato’ Soh Chin Aun, Sun Wen from China, Korea Republic’s Hong Myung-bo, Baichung Bhutia from India and Australia’s Harry Kewell.

Former Bayern Munich striker Daei played 149 times for Team Melli and scored 109 goals for his country.

Behzadi also played 35 times for Iran and scored 13 goals.

He also won the Asian Nations Cup twice with Iran in 1968 and 1972.
