Javad Nekounam, who played the full 90 minutes for the Basques, who were reuced to 10 men in second half, scored the opening goal just three minutes into the match with a well placed shot.

Meanwhile Masoud Shojaei set his mark on the Qatar Stars League, single-handedly downing Qatari top team Al Sadd with a hattrick in Al Shahaniya’s 3-1 win. Also former Iranian internation Mojtaba Jabbari got his name onto the scoresheet in 1-2 loss by Al Ahli, where also Jalal Hosseini plays. Despite an early blunder from Pejman Montazeri, Umm Salal managed to score a 4-3 win whereas Ashkan Dejagah and Al Arabi suffered a 0-1 defeat. In Kuwait, Reza Ghoochannejhad might win his first title with Kuwait SC on Monday, when they will take on Al Arabi in the final of the Crown Prince Cup.
