144 Football Players Banned From Traveling Due To Tax Issues

Trend – TEHRAN, Similar to the recent case of midfielder Mohammad Nouri, who could not leave with Team Melli for their training camp in South Africa due to tax issues, there has been an investigation opened on corruption and tax evasion that has blocked 144 players across the country from traveling.

144 soccer players from different teams are banned from leaving the country, Iran’s news agency Fars quoted Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission Hamid Rasaei, for the implementation of Article 90 of the Constitution.

Rasaei said that leaving the country is prohibited in connection with tax debts.

He said that six well-known soccer clubs and their players have tax debts worth more than $ 48 million.

He said that at present, the complaints against soccer clubs are considered in connection with corruption and tax evasion.

“Until now, the concessions were made for the soccer players involved in the matches in other countries,” he said. “But it can not continue.”
