Mayelikohan appointed as Iran U-23 technical director

Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iran Football Federation (IFF) has appointed Mohammad Mayelikohan as Under-23 football team’s technical director on Sunday.

After appointing Mohammad Khakpour as the head coach and adding Majid Saleh and Hadi Tabatabaei to the technical staff, the federation has decided to choose the former Team Melli coach as the U-23 technical director.

Mayelikohan, who has managed Iran national team twice, was on the bench of U-23 team when they were competing to qualify for the 2004 in Athens.

His best time as a footballer was when he joined Persepolis in 1976. Mayelikohan has played for the Reds until he retired in 1990. He has also played six times for Iran national team.

The 60-year-old coach will fly to Kish on Monday to join U-23 team camp.
