Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iran coach Carlos Queiroz said that he was going to win a medal in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup to give that the Iranian fans.

Iran failed to advance to the semi-final under tutelage of the Portuguese coach, being beaten by Iraq 7-6 on penalties.

“I am sad and I am still suffering that we have been eliminated. I believe that we deserved more because the referee decisions went against us in the match against Iraq. Of course, it was not Iraq’s fault and there is no excuse for defeat,” Carlos Queiroz said.

“I wanted to give the Iranians a medal. I think the fans are true champions. I supported them. We feel pain, just as the fans feel pain. I love Iran and the country’s fans,” the former Real Madrid and Portugal coach added.

“I have to make something clear. Iran gave me everything but I could not give them anything,” Queiroz said.
