Persepolis set new AFC Champions League attendance record

Loading...AFC – KUALA LUMPUR, Last Wednesday’s 1-0 win for Persepolis over Al Nassr set a new attendance record for the AFC Champions League it has been announced.
Some 100,000 spectators packed into Tehran’s Azadi Stadium to see the Iranian side beat their Group A rivals from Saudi Arabia and register the competition’s highest attendance figure since its inception in 2002-03.
The impressive statistic surpassed the previous record of 96,200 which was established when Persepolis entertained Qatar’s Al Gharafa in 2012 also at the Azadi Stadium.
