Persianfootball – TEHRAN, Iranian international assistant referee Hassan Kamranifar has announced his retirement from refereeing.

Kamranifar has decided to retire after being involved with the game as a professional match official for 12 years.

The 43-year-old assistant referee took part in two FIFA World Cups finals, the 2008 Olympic Games, the 2011 AFC Asian Cup and the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup.

The highlight of his career saw him perform the duties of an assistant referee during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and as a fourth official during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

In addition to him participating in international events, Kamranifar was also a seasoned official and regularly participated in international friendlies, the IPL and the Asian Champions League matches.

Kamranifar stated that although he would have liked to continue refereeing, his health issues were the deciding factor in his decision to end his career as a match official.

“I could go ahead until 2018, but I decided to retire due to an illness. I thank those who have supported me during the years,” Kamranifar said.
