AFC – ISFAHAN, The delight was etched across the face of Tasisat Daryaei coach Amir Shamsaei as he celebrated his team becoming the first club from Iran in three years to win the AFC Futsal Club Championship after his side’s thrilling 5-4 win over Qadsia SC on Friday.

The tournament hosts ended Iran’s disappointing run thanks to a pair of goals from Iran national team captain Asghar Hassanzadeh as well as strikes from Ghodrat Bahadori, Reza Sangsefidi and tournament MVP Vahid Shamsaee before holding off a determined Qadsia to claim the title.

“I’m so happy that after three years we have been able to get the trophy and it’s now in Iran,” said Shamsaei (pictured). “It was so hard to get it and we’re worked hard. We were training twice a day and there were lots of problems, but I’m really happy we were able to win.”

“Finals are always played under special conditions,” said Shamsaei. “It was a hard game and going into it I thought that if we won 1-0 or 10-0 there is no difference, the most important thing is that you get the trophy at the end of the game.

“In the second half we took the game and tried to slow it down but the Kuwaitis tried their best. They pressed us but I’m happy we were able to get the trophy at the end of the game.”
