Persepolis beaten by Saipa in Iran Professional League
Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Persepolis football team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Saipa at the sixth week of Iran Professional League (IPL) on Wednesday.
Persepolis striker Mehdi Taremi missed a penalty in the dying moments of the first half.
In the 69th minute, the referee showed the penalty spot due to Persepolis defender Ramin Rezaeian handball but replays showed the decision to be clearly wrong.
Reza Norouzi converted it into the goal.
Gholamreza Rezaei made it 2-0 in the 81st minute.
Taremi pulled a goal back in the injury time.
Persepolis remained at the 14th place of the IPL table and Saipa moved to sixth place.
