Naft keeper Beiranvand linked with Persepolis: Report
Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Iranian international goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand is set to leave Naft Tehran to join Tehran giants Persepolis, Iranian media reported.
Persepolis has struggled in goal in the first half of the season due to poor performances by first choice keeper Sosha Makani.
While the club is reportedly set to terminate Makani’s contract, Persepolis second choice goalkeeper Iman Sadeghi has officially signed a contract with second division side Khoneh Be Khoneh.
Persepolis is a title contender this season and will need a top keeper if they want to remain in the title race.
Beiranvand’s main trait is his outrageous long throwing ball. Many of this throws have caused goals and assists. In the 2015 AFC Champions League Round of 16, on 20 May 2015, against Al Ahli Beiranvand had a magnificent throwing the ball with a range of 60m.
On 24 November 2014, Beiranvand provided an assist against Tractor Sazi by throwing the ball into the opponent’s half.
Persepolis, who is currently holding an 11-game unbeaten run, stands in fifth place with 29 points, five points behind league leaders Esteghlal.
