Iran U-23 Football Team Arrives in Qatar

Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iran’s U-23 football team has arrived in Doha, Qatar, ahead of the start of the AFC U-23 Championship 2016.

The members of the Iranian team were greeted by the Iranian officials in Qatar.

Mohammad Khakpour’s team has been drawn in Group A of the event, which will be held in Doha from January 12 to 30.

Iran will open the competition with a match against Syria.

Host Qatar and China are in the group as well.

The tournament will serve as the 2016 Olympic qualifiers. The top three teams will qualify to Brazil 2016.
