Iranian strikers in Europe in good shape [VIDEO]
Persianfootball.com – ALMELO, Iran’s exports to the Netherlands, Greece and England continued to impress this weekend.
Alireza Jahanbakhsh, who had struggled with injury at AZ Alkmaar last year, has regained form in 2016. After scoring his debut goal recently, he scored his second league goal for AZ and assisted another in a specatcular 3-6 away victory at Heracles Almelo.
After scoring AZ’s fourth goal with a well placed shot from just outside the area, the winger assisted the final goal of the day with a freekick.
In Greece, Karim Ansarifard scored his seventh league goal already in a 1-1 draw, helping Panionios to the fourth position in the table.
In England, Reza Ghoochannejhad won back his spot in Charlton’s starting lineup and played 75 minutes in a goalless draw, showing a very pleasing performance in a slightly unusual winger role.
Alireza Haghighi made his debut for Maritimo in Portugal’s first league on Sunday. Iran’s national team goalkeeper came on after 40 minutes, when Maritimo already trailed 1-3 and were a man down due to a red card, but kept a clean sheet from then on.
Already on Friday, Ehsan Hajsafi played the full 90 minutes in FSV Frankfurt’s 1-2 league defeat.
Sardar Azmoun’s and Saeid Ezatollahi’s FK Rostov and Milad Mohammadi’s Terek Grozny are still in winter break.
